Anyone spending New Years in Jamaica? Is it expensive?

My husband and I are planning our vacation for Christmas/NYE 2002, and were thinking about Jamaica... Anyone on the East coast, how expensive is it around the holidays, and is it really worth the extra money???

We were thinking about leaving 2 days after christmas and staying until New Years day.
