Planning a trip to Trinadad end of March (2004) We will be staying in a friends' house up in the northern mountain Range. Anyone have any hints or tips on things to see and do or anything else??? Personal experiences??

I just replied to your snorkeling question! If you are spending some time on Trinidad, you MUST visit the Asa Wright Nature Centre. Located in an old(er) house with a veranda overlooking the mountains, the Centre is "home" to dozens of species of birds and other critters. As we were walking down the back stairs to take a two-hour tour/hike, a boa constrictor was wrapped around the limb of the tree overhead. It's a major destination for bird watchers and other nature lovers. Again, have a great trip!
