Any comments for Sheraton Grand Resort Paradise Island?

I have not seen any comments on Sheraton Grand Resort Paradise Island. We are looking into spending a week there mid July.

    The reason maybe that the resort just recently re-opened after some much needed rennovations and repairs from hurricane damage a year or so ago.

    The Sheraton is large and right on the beach, close to the Atlantis but far enough way so that you won't have the huge crowds Atlantis has. Someone mentioned recently on this board that you would have access to the Atlantis staying at the Sheraton and I don't believe that is correct.

    Cabbage Beach, which is the large stretch of beautiful sand was named one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world recently by the travel channel.

    There are several good restaurants on island at the Sheraton, the Ocean Club, Atlantis and of course in Nassau.

    When you get to the hotel there are tons of brochures and discount shopping coupons so you can look through and pick what looks most fun.

    July is off season in the Bahamas so you really don't have to make reservations for trips until you get there, unless you want to do the Dolphin Encounter, that fills up pretty quickly.

    Bring ALOT of sun screen, it is hot and the sun is very direct.
