Antigua-Royal Antiguan--pros and cons
We are planning a trip to Antigua in March 1998. So far we have leaned towards staying at the Royal Antiguan. We dont mind commercialized accommodations and dont care to have formal dress code required. If anyone has any insights on accommodations in Antigua or has been to Royal Antiguan we look forward to your response.

We visited both Club Antigua and Royal Antiguan last year. We found that there were too many children at Club Antigua and although a very nice beach etc, rooms were small and very basic. The food was O>K> but mostly buffet (cafeteria like). We quite enjoyed the Royal Antiguan, although there were some children, the place did not cater to children. Lovely restaurant right over the water, great food, great beach, yes, rooms are Holiday Inn type, but clean and comfortable. Would recomend.

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Antiguan last March for a week. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is very nice, clean, great grounds and beach. Very friendly people. Look on the Web for the Caribbean Travel Roundup for my article on our trip along with other articles about Antigua. The home page is http://www.best.com/~ctr/
