My wife and I are 30 and are looking to go to Antigua in Feb. Just wondering what the weather is like and where the best place to saty would be. We're not looking to break the bank but not cheap either. Were thinking of staying at Sandals, because we wanted an AI and have heard some good things. Also looking to golf while there, so if anybody knows of good golfing, please let me know. Any advice, would be a huge help! Thanks so much

Hotel suggestions apart from Sandals - Jolly Beach which has an all inclusive plan and is located on a decent beach. There is also Halcyon Cove (not all incl) - next door to Sandals and on a good beach; Blue Waters - this one may be a little pricey but I beleive it is also all-incl. <BR>The weather in February is usually hot although you could get some rainy but is is well outside the hurricane season so your days should be sunny for the most part<BR><BR>Golf - there is only one golf course on the island - Cedar Valley Golf course.

You really don't need an AI on Antigua, especially if you stay in the Dickinson Bay area. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance on the beach or a short cab ride away. We stayed in a timeshare room at the Rex Halcyon, and there are also condos for rent at Antigua Village Beach Club. <BR><BR>Be sure and go to the Sunday night party at Shirley Heights! Bring acamera for some sunset photos as it is a spectacular view.

I too have heard positive comments on Jolly Beach so that would be worth looking into.<BR><BR>We did stay at Sandals and enjoyed it very much. The grounds are lovely - very lush and tropical and beautifully manicured. Food was excellent - liked the dining options and most open to the water. It is a more laid back Sandals but still plenty to do if you choose. Evening entertainment in the courtyard was nice - great atmosphere. We had a room on the bluff and it was a terrific location. Room was very spacious and the staff was very friendly and accomondating. While on the same great beach, it looked rather run down. The Peir restaurant there looked to be very nice however but ground, rooms and etc... in need of updating and sprucing up.<BR><BR>Blue Water is over the cove from Sandals and while pricier, also looked very nice. Have also heard very good things about it. <BR><BR>St. James Club seems to get mixed reviews.

I just returned from Sandals Antigua last Thursday, Oct. 10. It was our first Sandals experience and we had the time of our lives!! I read a lot of bad reviews and comments on Sandals AFTER I booked my trip, which had me worried. We had a few problems (nothing serious) and once my husband told them "I came here to get married and to be served" they were calling our room a few times a day to check on us. So I think they may try to get away with what they can, you just have to put your foot down. <BR><BR>The resort is absolutely beautiful! It is big, but not too big...you never feel as though the place is too crowded. It was the most carefree and relaxing vacation we have ever had. I would recommend it to anyone. Dickenson Bay was a beautiful beach. If you may not want to go the Sandals route, Rex Halcyon (next door) looked as though it was very nice also. You won't go wrong staying on Dickenson Bay though!! Antigua is a great island! Good water, good beach and fun and sun await you at Sandals Antigua. The restaurants are very good, also.
