We fly from Vegas to TCI and usually layover in either Miami or Atlanta. Travel time with layovers for us is about 9.5 hrs. Unfortunately we have nothing direct from LV.

From LAX, American flies through Miami. From Miami to T&C is 1 hour 15 minutes. They use big jets (757's) and have numerous flights a day, including one at dinner time.
Delta flies through Atlanta, but only has 1 flight a day.
Usairways flies through Charlotte, Pilly, and NY, but once again, once a day.

From the US the only 2 practical ways to reach Anguilla are 1) to first make your way to San Juan and take the American Eagle flight to Anguilla or 2) fly from the US to St. Martin and take the ferry, a private water taxi or an island hopper flight to Anguilla.

I pretty sure you can't get from LAX to SJU non-stop and I don't you can even get there direct - you have to change planes somewhere - depending on your airline it could be DFW (if you use American Airlines), Charlotte (USAIR), Atlanta (Delta) or Miami (several airlines). You can check the best routing for your planned dates of travel on websites such as Travelocity or Orbitz as well as the major airline websites. They will list all available flights (with several different connection options) and give you overall travel time (including layover time at your connecting airport). Generally it will take you an hour longer to reach San Juan vs. Provo (in the Turks & Caicos) from the US gateway city you are using. Anguilla is about a 45 minute flight from San Juan.
FYI - you can fly American/American Eagle from LAX to Anguilla but you'll connect through DFW or MIA to reach SJU and then connect to the AE flight to Anguilla. It's going to be a long travel day and you may find that you'll have to overnight in SJU or MIA as there's only on AE flight each day to Anguilla from SJU. That's why i suggested earlier to look into flying into St. Martin (SXM) and taking the ferry or water taxi to Anguilla. It may get you "on-island" sooner.

Yes you can fly non-stop LAX-SJU (AA238 on 763, 6.5hrs, 3,387mi, d11:45p, a9:25a+1, Th,F,Sa,Su).
I've done it non-stop in the reverse recently.
Which destination has the most direct route?
PLS (Provo, T&C) is definitely easier/more choices/faster to reach from LAX than AXA (Anguilla)
PLS - 7 hours (5hrs LAX-MIA, 2hrs MIA-PLS)
AXA - 7.75 hours (6.5hrs LAX-SJU, 1.25hrs SJU-AXA)
What airline is best?
Haven't used USAir to Carib, so b/w AA and DL, it depends on whether or not I want to use miles or not. If using miles, it's definitely easier to get standard award tickets with AA. If purchasing, I usually find bargain rates with DL and personally prefer flying through ATL (DL hub) than MIA (a crazy mess).
And if flying ATL-PLS-ATL, I'll do my best to avoid the Sat flts on 757 (crowded, noisy, a huge mess). The small CR7 flights are much more enjoyable.

Very helpful info, thank you!
Bluefin, can you tell me how close was the VR to the snorkeling reef (Coral Garden area),is it walking distance? Also, is the ocean in front of the CG all reefs? How far is it to get to ocean with no rocks or reef?

Villa Renaissance isn't too close to Coral Gardens. Don't know the exact distance, but it's a good 45min stroll if I remember correctly (not necessarily a bad thing along Grace Bay Beach )
The following map should give you a fair idea (but no measurable distance):

Taking a car or shuttle would be more preferable if you're schlepping snorkel gear. Also, don't skip out on visiting Smith's Reef.
It's just pure white sand in front of CG...no rocks on the beach. The underwater reef only takes up a small portion of the shallow waters along CG's expansive shoreline.
