Anguilla
I am planning a trip with friends to Anguilla in July. I am considering CuisinArt or Capa Juluca. Any thoughts as to which one I should stay at. Also looking for some fun activities and dinners for a few nights. I am looking for music/ great food/ fun atmosphere? Thanks

Casual food, geat music at Johnno's.
We stayed on Shoal Bay East beach, but did go to both Cuisinart and Cap Juluca(sp)for drinks. If you can take the cost, Cap Juluca looked better. We didn't like the location of the pool at Cuisinart---right in the middle of the restaurants---unless you're a swimsuit model and like to be on display.
There are so many fabulous restaurants, it's hard to choose. Read the trip reviews for some great tips.

Live bands at Smokeys on Saturday afternoons & Sunday nights; Pumphouse on Thursdays & Saturdays; Elvis has a dj or band lots of nights; Shoal Bay East restaurants have bands on Sunday afternoons; Bankie Banx at the Dune Preserve sometimes plays & when he does, he goes all night.
Cap has an awful lot of couples/honeymooners. CuisinArt is a little more electic. Both have great beaches. Anguilla is pretty laid back -- no casinos, cruise ships. Not a whole lot going on but great food & beaches.

I've stayed at both CuisinArt and Cap Juluca. Cap has a better beach, CuisinArt has better rooms. Our room at Cap was in dire need of an update and this was last year. Definitely lots of honeymooners at Cap.
Don't miss a visit to the Dune Preserve on a night when Bankie is playing. They also have very good food at reasonable prices. I think Bankie plays on Sunday afternoons as well as a couple of nights a week. Ask some of the locals about his schedule. He's really good.
Another great place for dinner is Barrel Stay in Sandy Ground. It doesn't get the buzz some of the other restaurants get but this past May we enjoyed our dinner there more than we enjoyed our dinner at Blanchards.

Thanks for all your input. We are looking for one of the big villas. I will check to see if they are updated in Cap. Sounds like we should catch Bankie playing. It will be on the list to do.I appreciate all the input so far and hope their is more to come.

Well I am a big Cap fan---only stayed at Cuisi once--and it
was very nice but Cap has a stunning beach, the rooms have
been freshened up (just was there in early Dec.)and it has
much more privacy than Cuisinart. The big pool villas
are very very nice---btw Cuisinart has some new villas,
so you might also want to inquire about them. Sheriva is stunning---it overlooks cap, and you can use their beach chairs and beach service. Cap has a nice mix of guests--
not only for honeymooners.
Covecastles is very intimate---and the Point villa
has a pool, nice. No real restaurant on site, but they
do room service. We just got back from covecastles--its
like having your own home on the beach.
No wrong choices--just find what you want.
