PLEASE HELP!! i am agonizing over this decision. i really want to go to ABV in Barbados, but the last review i read was horrendous, especially about the staff and the condition of the rooms. i wish i never started reading reviews about anything. now i am considering Beaches boscobel, but my husband does not want to go to Jamaica because of unrest and violence there(?)

has anyone been to either fairly recently- or preferably both- that can give me a true unbiased opinion? im in dire straits here, and need to get a trip booked. thanks

            • We stayed at the ABV about 6yrs ago we had a great time at the resort the food the people and the service were great. The resort was very clean when we were there. The rooms were nice but a little plainer than some other resort we have been to. We did take the shuttle trip to town and felt safe and had no problems walking around. They do offer a great trip to swim with the turtles this was a blast. Also on the beaches on ABV there were not any people hanging out in the water or beach asking if you want to buy stuff or women asking to braid your hair the beaches are public in jamaica. We did go into town (jamaica )and there are a whole bunch of vendors they are all saying take a look come in some even pulled my arm to come in to the huts. They switch prices also when we were there they gave one price for a bunch of stuff after I picked it all out she said no need more money. I prefer Barbados and wouldnt return to jamiaca IMO. Try trip advisor for current reviews and look at the pics people have posted to get a real view of what both resorts look like this might help make your choice easier.
