Allegro questions
Looking for very recent experiences. Any comments on upkeep, food & beverage, entertainment etc. With the upcoming sale of the property wondering if they are letting it slip ...

Hi,
Which Allegro are you speaking of...they have many in several countries and most are now "Occidentals"...IMO Allegro properties were not very good before except the new ones they just built in Playa Del carmen area.

We stayed next door to the T&C Allegro Dec. 6-14 and walked past it on the beach at least a dozen times. The beach area is very nice and they had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. They have their own dock for dive boats and other excursions.
One night we spent some time in the Allegro casino and found it pleasant (we won $1.50!). Like most Caribbean hotel casinos, it's a modest place, nothing like Vegas or Atlantic City, but a nice diversion.
The lobby areas in the hotel looked well-kept. We didn't see the rooms, but we talked to several people who were staying there, and they felt very positive about the place - although they did say the rooms are nothing special.
Looking at the rates for Allegro compared to the other all-inclusives on Provo, it looks like a good deal to me.
I keep seeing rumors about the property being sold but have yet to find any firm information about it. I'm not sure it's a fait accompli.
