All-Inclusive in August w/ 2 17yr. olds. Help?

Teens want an "islandy" experience, love H2O sports, want a swim up to bar pool, enough distance from Mom & Dad. These are "their" requests. We are looking at spending perhaps $1000.00P/P (incl. airfare). Have looked into Domenican Republic (the Iberostar Costa Dorado), well-priced. Has anyone ever been? Other ideas, suggestions? They were thinking Jamaica but looks quite a bit more expensive.
Please thoughts appreciated

For that price the DR or some mid range hotels in Mexico would be in order. I assume you are talking 5-7 nights, correct? Goood luck and I think they will have a blast. Hope you do too.

Wyndham Montego Bay in Jamaica was very nice. It was extremely reasonable too. Great waterpark for all ages.

Friends of mine took their teens to Playa del Carmen in Mexico and they had a blast. They stayed at one of the Iberostar hotels but I don't know which one. You can browse the hotels on www.tripadvisor.com to choose the price range and read reviews. See this site -
