finally caught up and can do a quick trip report.
I was in Provo during Tropical Storm (hurricane Isaac) where they were calling for 90% chance of rain.
Flew AA through Miami. Weather was gorgeous, but it was hazy from "Sahara Dust", very common this time of year.
Saw some good friends.
I knew Isaac was suppose to hit Miami, my connection, during the weekend, and I was suppose to work all week, so I spent half of the week trying to leave early. Finally AA closed the airport but couldn't put me on a plane until 4 days after I was suppose to be home.
what's a girl to do? I booked a 1 way to NY, spent the night, flew straight to Va early morning, went straight to work.
So being "forced" to spend night in NY, I went to Times Square. The contrast of having a gorgeous beach to myself followed by a packed NY street was insane! I'm walking around about 9:30 at night and ran into:
Ricky Martin!
So back to Provo, weather was unreal. 2 days of sunny until noonish, followed by dark clouds. 1 complete washout day. One night of howling winds. right after Isaac, POSTCARD weather.
The Sahara Dust was gone. The sky a crystal blue. Water sparkling clear and bright.
I truly enjoyed my extra perfect days there!
Here was the weird thing. Everybody with an upcoming storm left the island. I had perfect days all to myself, felt like it all belonged to me. 
it's all mine!
Many restaurants were shutting down for the season, but ate at
Caicos Cafe, Thai Orchid, Tiki Hut, Baci, Mango Reef, Bay Bistro.
I've only been back for a week but need to go back now, I'm aching!

To Blanoma - our family of 6 adults and 3 children are trying to plan a week in Turks and Caicos. Do you think the Sandstone villa on Grace Bay Beach would be a good choice for a spacious house to rent,a pool,beach access and snorkling, and walking to restaurants and other activities? Thanks for any suggestions.
I will look up Sandstone and advise. Is that one roughly your budget too? I'll post soon.
I looked ip Sandstone, I've actually gone through it! I is spacious. TcVillas is an excellent company to go through. Right in front of the best snorkeling on the island. You can walk to some restaurants, but it's a rough dark road. The beach there is rocky, which why great snorkeling, but okay swimming.
If I remember correctly, the bottom bedrooms are separate from the house, you have to step outside to go up to the kitchen and living areas.
It's very well maintained, and spacious.
Regardless of where you pick, you mint want to consider renting a van, or a couple of cars. The great restaurants are in clumps, and the supermarket would require it too. Also the gorgeous sections of Grace Bay, and exploring Sapadilla and Taylor Bay.
If you don't mind the cars, I think you'd be fine there.

Are you foodies or mind cooking?
Do you like excursions?
Do you need shopping or nightlife?
In general, no one resort is close to everything. You either get shopping and some restaurants, or the other end with snorkeling. To explore the best kids beaches, you need a van or cars.
Villas are definitely not in the middle of the hub, most require transportation sooner or later. Some are close to snorkeling, but then you miss out the best stretches of beach. Some are close to a handleful of restaurants but then you need a car to get to better or kid friendly ones.

Do you know anything about the Villa Oasis? Do you think the beach there was affected by Hurricane Sandy?

If you answer all those questions it would really help, there's no bad place to stay, but don't know anything about you to give an opinion
