Adult Family Getaway - Punta Cana Hotels

Hi everyone! My in-laws are celebrating a big birthday next year and have requested that for their birthday all they want is to go on a family (mini)vacation during the beginning of March. I want to present a couple different locations/hotels to them and I'm exploring Punta Cana as an option in case they're not in love with my first idea (The Sands in T&C...thanks to all that have helped me narrow that down!).

I have looked through other posts, tripadvisor, as well as debbiesdominicantravel.com, but am wondering if I could get some more specific hotel insights.

-It seems that Bavaro beach is the place to be?
-There will be 6-8 of us (4 rooms would be needed)
-It would just be for 4 days (Fri AM-Mon PM including travel).
-We'd definitely prefer a small to medium sized hotel...not a HUGE complex of a resort.
-Is it possible to walk to any shopping areas/towns in the Bavaro area?
-No preference on AI...we don't drink (or drink minimally) so not sure if AI would make sense? Or perhaps something that includes just meals?
-We're all going to be getting together for dinner somewhere in the evening. We're not foodies, but do appreciate good food over touristy restaurants. We would prefer that these be in the hotel or something walking distance.
-Parents would like a quiet, relaxing beach & pool as well as spa-services on-site.
-The "kids" (between 25-32yrs) would like the same as well as something more active (hiking/water activities) for a bit of the time.
-No need for nightlife/clubs. We'd prefer to stay away from any college/spring break crowds or large gatherings of children.
-Budget about $350/night per room

Is anyone able to help me narrow down the huge list of properties I've written down from tripadvisor/expedia pretty please? :)
