Activities in Antigua
My wife and I are going to Sandal's Anitgua for 5 days in Feb and was wondering if there were anything's that we shouldn't miss outside on Sandal's while we're there. I've heard about Shirley Heights and we arrive on Sunday around 4pm and was just wondering what time the party went on until. Thanks!

Bill - I just returned from my weddingmoon at Sandals Antigua about 2 months ago and let me tell you that you are in for a treat! We loved this resort. It has a great laid back and romantic feel to it. The landscaping is wonderful and the beach is amazing!

We were there for 7 nights and we figured that we would want to get out and explore, but the only thing we did was get out one day for shopping in St. John's. We were just enjoying the resort so much we didn't want to leave! Of course, we were on our honeymoon so I guess relaxation was key. Shirley Heights is the most talked about adventure. There is also a catamaran cruise that takes you around the entire island which will pick you up at the resort. I heard great things about it while I was there. I would also try the parasailing (also at the resort). It looks amazing! They charge $40 but you should be able to talk them down!

There is so much to enjoy at the resort also such as waterskiing, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, volleyball, the spa...I could go on and on! Enjoy your vacation (I know you will)!!

It is usually known that you can bargain with them and they will lower the price a little (the vendors that is). If you're comfortable with spending what they're asking, then that's fine. It was just a tip .

Shopping in St. John's is fine. Nothing special in my opinion. There is A LOT of shops though. Sandals offers daily (I think) trips into town for $10 per couple. They will take you, drop you off and pick you up in 2 1/2 hours. We were buying lots of gifts for people back home and almost ran out of time because there are so many shops to go into!

Bill - be sure and try the dirty bananas. They were our favorite drink...also the sip-sops. Yummm!

There is so much to see by having a driver take you on a tour of the island one day. There's no limit to the beauty of Antigua. Spend another day shopping in St. John's. Those two are musts. Other than that, spend time relaxing by the pool. The nightlife is the best at Sandals Antigua as are the restauarants. Enjoy!
