My soon to be husband & I are going to Dominica this June for our honeymoon for 6 days.
Being first time visitors on the island, which acitivities would you recommend are a MUST see and do you have any suggestions on places to stay.
We are quite active...love hiking, rainforests, swimming, snorkeling and like to stay in quaint accomodations..no major resorts.
Also, is it necessary to book tour guides for these activities?
We're rather confused looking through all of our material...
Thanks for your help!!!
Suzie

Suzie - I hope my response isn't too late - just came across it. My husband and I loved Dominica and are sure you will have a wonderful time. Our favorite place to stay was the Papillote Wilderness Retreat, and they helped us organize lots of day trips. Renting a car is a must - which we learned the hard way after wasting lots of money on taxis. Also, consider hiking Morne Diablotin - quite the expereience!! You'll need a guide, and your hotel should be able to help with that. If you have any other questions, please let me know - otherwise enjoy your trip! Sara
Hi Dominica is a lovely island with lots to see and do. i have been to dominica and if you get the right taxi then you won't have to worry about paying so much on taxi, you will be using one taxi for you entire stay with one price. you don't want to busy thinking if you are going the right places.
i can recommend trueworshipperservice@gmail.com and your stay at fort Young hotel with a wonderful view and easy access to the town.
I stayed at rootsjungleretreat.com
AMAZING! It is separate kai pais in a Bed and Breakfast-type setting.
Pretty much, it is like visiting Gilligan's Island with grass roofs and completely surrounded by nature. They are right near a river and have the most incredible frogs and birds on property. Every morning fresh bread and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend this place. the price was reasonable.
