YYZ Transit Lounge

Jump to last reply

In October of 2015 my wife and I will be flying from SFO to YYZ on a regular Air Canada flight. When we get to YYZ at 15:00 we will be connecting with Air Canada Rouge on a nonstop flight from there to Venice overnight departing at 21:00. We are scheduled to have a 5:44 minute layover and do not expect to leave the transit lounge (as we do not wish to go through security again if it is not necessary for the reason stated below). This will be our first such venture in Canada (we've done transit lounges in London and Frankfurt but not in many years) and it would nice to know what to expect. Being 80 and mobility-challenged (my wife is all of eight months younger but fit) planning ahead is the key to our continuing to be able to travel successfully.

We are lifetime members of United's Red Carpet club but currently have no frequent flyer preferred status with anyone holding only basic Mileage Plus membership.

My questions are several:

Will we have to change terminals in Toronto? If so, from which one to which one and how is that transfer made for transit passengers?

What kind of meal facilities are available in the international transit passenger area?

What kind of lounge facilities are available for fee/free entry in the international transit passenger area?

Answers to the above questions from travelers experienced with the above facilities would be greatly appreciated. Additional advice, suggestions, and guidance would also be appreciated.

Many thanks,
BigBlue
