My wife and I are thinking of planning a trip to Quebec City for the Winter Carnival at the end of Jan. Just wondering if anyone has attended this event and if they think it is worth enduring the crowds for. Also, any suggestions on places to stay there would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi Eric!!!

I have been to the winter carnival many times, as my best-friend lives in the city. You've never seen so many people having a good time in FREEZING temperatures!!! Be certain to dress warmly, drink lots of hot chocolate, and have a GREAT time.
Ross.
ERIC: My wife and I are also planning to travel to Winter Carnival. We have not been to Quebec in winter before, but the Quebecois do winter well in Montreal and the Laurentians, so we are looking forward to it. We have visited Quebec in the summer and loved it. In the winter there is good cross-country skiing to the east. I also highly suggest the crepes and cider. We are staying a couple nights at Le Douceux Belges, a B and B that looks (on the web site) wonderful and serves moules frites (mussels and french fries, which is a traditional Belgian dish and very good. Bon vacance!
