Whistler in July

As part of our vacation my family (wife and 8 and 12 yr old) will be in Whistler at the Weston for 4 days. I appreciate that the whole area is beatiful but do you have specific outdoor ideas that may be fun for the whole family? Thank you.

Our family enjoyed renting bikes and riding around the Valley Trail, renting kayaks and canoes at the lake, and there are hiking trails for all levels. The Village itself is full of activity. It's a bit of a drive but one of the highlights of our trip was renting a boat at Sewell's Marina at Horseshoe Bay. We packed a picnic lunch and had a wonderful time exploring all the islands in the area. The scenery was spectacular. We also saw an eagle and over 100 sea lions at Pam's Rock (about 30 minutes from the marina).

Take the tram ride to the top of the mountain - the whole family will love it. Rollerblade along the trail (good place to start is next to the aquatic centre - the paved trail is flat, goes through a nice forested area, and ends up at a lake, bring the bathing suit!) Swim in Lost lake (it's cold however), their is mini-golf, rock-climbing, walking, shopping, scenic drives etc. etc. You will love it.

You haven't felt cold till you've felt the lakes in Whistler area!!!!! Better stick to the pools and hottubs.
