I am planning a trip to Prince Edward Island this summer. I would like to rent a cottage or beach house on the shore, but would like to be within 20 minutes or so of Charlttetown. Any suggestions? What are the most favorable beaches for young families? Thanks!
Where to stay with my family of 5 on PEI near Charlottetown on the beach?

Brackly Beach Northwinds Motel is awesome. Our famly has stayed there for over 10 years now. They are not on the beach, but only about 10 minutes away and have a great indoor pool, if the weather is too cool for the beach. It's about a 15 minute drive to Charlottetown. They offer a terrific breakfast, included in your room rate, and spacial housekeeping units that would suit a family. We would never even consider any place else.
Have not been back to PEI for some time but we like Shaw's Hotel, Brackley Beach. The food is very good.

I would check out the PEI tourist guide and pick something on the south shore...sometimes there can be strong currents on the north shore when the wind blows off the land...there are lots of cottages for rent...most you have to rent for a week.
