Any idea which crossing(s) between Vermont and Quebec will be least crowded on the Friday afternoon of US Memorial Day weekend (Friday, May 27)?
I am going to Montreal from Boston, so I can use any of the crossings from I-91/A-55 over to I-87/A-15 (which I know is in New York, not Vermont!). I figure the I-87/A-15 crossing would be pretty busy, though.
FWIW, I crossed at Derby Line, VT, (through town) a couple of years ago on a Thursday or Friday in early August and we were the only car crossing at the time. We had stopped in town anyway and so were not avoiding the I-91 crossing, but I looked back at it when we got on the autoroute, and it did not seem to be very busy either. Of course, that was not the Friday of Memorial Day weekend!
I know I can look at wait times online if I have access to the Web when I am close to crossing, but I wanted to pick my route based on what generally would be the easiest crossing.

I have crossed the North Troy VT., post a dozen times this ski season without any delay.
Last Good Fiday we crossed into the US at the Alburg border crossing also without delay. At that time the US87/A15 had a two hour wait.
After Alburg and just after the VT welcome center is another quiet crossing.
There is an unmanned border crossing up the road from the Mobil gas station that is right before the VT/NY border. I have never had the courage to use it.
Right after you cross the bridge into NY to your right you can see another one.

cdnyul - Thanks for the info. It sounds like one of the smaller crossings is the way to go.
