Vancouver Marriott or Renaissance
My husband and I will be staying a couple of days in Vancouver pre-cruise in May, 2007. We have Marriott points to use and wonder if anyone has a preference between these 2 hotels. They're both Category 5 and "cost" the same number of points. Just curious. Thanks for your help.

Funny enough I landed these two hotels in my last pair of Priceline.com stays in Vancouver.
The Renaissance has some rooms with awesome views of the water and North Shore Mountains which, for most travelers, should make the difference.
Marriott had lots of socializing going on downstairs until the wee hours on the night I stayed there - very loud, even when I was several floors off the ground.

Not sure if it is too late or not, but given what you replied, I would opt for the Renaissance where you could at least hope for a room with a great view.
I was a lowly Priceline person when I stayed there, and yet still landed a room about 12 floors up on the view side. It was awesome both during daylight and darkness.
