Vancouver Hotel Near Convention Center?
We plan to attend a conference at the Vancouver Convention Center in Oct/Nov. Does anyone have suggestions on where to stay that is close to the convention center? Being able to get to & from the convention center (preferably walking or via any public transit) is key. What is the price range for a low, moderate and high price hotel near the convention center around that time of year? Would want two beds, non-smoking hotel.
Also any suggestions for a two bedroom place, in case we have 3-4 people?
Thanks.

Perhaps you could give us an idea of what your budget is, since your low/high price ranges might be different than someone else's.
The closest hotels to the convention centre are the Pan Pacific, the Pacific Rim and the Fairmont Waterfront, but there are lots of options within easy walking distance - the Hyatt Regency, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, a Days Inn, Marriot Pinnacle, Coast, Renaissance are within 3 blocks. There are many, many more in the downtown area.

Thanks for these ideas. I don't understand why the internet maps I've seen for Vancouver don't show the Convention Center, tho they show lots of other things in Vancouver. I have no idea about hotel prices in Vancouver and am trying to get feel for the place in US$
I guess low is probably about $100/night, medium is probably $200/night and high is probably about $300/night. Is that roughly how it is in Vancouver as well?

In Google Maps, I typed in "hotels near Vancouver convention centre" and got this:
http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
The convention centre buildings are on Canada Place, on the northwest side of downtown.
I don't think you'll find anything in downtown Vancouver under $100/night, but I guess it's not impossible especially at that time of year. Low for downtown is probably more like $150. High is more like $350. Right now the dollar is close to par.
And don't forget to try Trip Advisor for ideas as well.
