As long as you have lots of time for your vacation. Vancouver and Orlando are on opposites of the continent. To fly from Vancouver to Orlando will take one entire day. Your best bet is to check out the airlines websites, try Air Canada, United Airlines, Delta, American Airlines.
You'll have to make at least one change of plane. The best transfers are either Toronto, (where you'll have to go through US customs and immigration there), or through Chicago or Dallas where you'll go through C & I in Vancouver before you board your plane. You can also go via a few other US cities such as Denver, LAX, SFO, etc. The main thing is to use the same airline from Vancouver to Orlando to minimize the chance of your bags being screwed up.
If spending the maximum time in Orlando is important to you, you can take a 'Red Eye' flight from Vancouver to Toronto which arrives in TO around 6 AM and then catch a morning flight to Orlando which takes about 3 hours and you can be there before noon. Otherwise, with the three hour time difference you can look at spending the better part of a day on the plane and in airports.
Why not just go to Disney Land in California. That would be a lot easier.
I forgot to mention that there is also a Universal Studios and SeaWorld in California too ... so pretty much any theme park you would want to visit in Orlando, you could just visit in California - you will save money and time by staying on the west coast from Vancouver.
Thanks for your replies. Yes, I know!! My point exactly to my hubby and we are well aware that the two cities are at two different parts of the continent. However, we have been to LA 3 times already and although we as a couple have been to Orlando, the kids have not and I think there are more exciting rides over there than at LA.
Having said that, the thought of having to travel almost the whole day on board the plane there and probably another day on the way back to Vancouver seems a bit daunting. We might land at Orlando first before proceeding to Vancouver.
