Two nights in Quebec City - hotel, restaurant, activity suggestions?

Jump to last reply

We will actually have three nights in Quebec City, but we are arriving in the early morning on a cruise ship, and our first overnight will be onboard. That means we have two full days and one half day to enjoy the city before we head to the airport to catch an afternoon flight home. We will be there in late September.

This is our first time to visit Quebec City, so any ideas for a hotel for two nights are welcome (we prefer a king bed or even two smaller beds, and private bathroom). We won't completely rule out a chain hotel, but it's rarely our preference.

We enjoy history, walking, foodie experiences, cultural activities. I imagine we will want to be in an historical area of the city, able to walk to any attractions.

Probably like to keep the hotel expenses to under $550 for the two nights, anything with breakfast included is a bonus.

Anybody know of a "don't miss" restaurant? Or a good walking tour? Any hints for getting the most out of this short visit?

Thank you!
