travelling May 2003 to PEI
Need some help with details on what the weather will be like in very early May and what we will be able to see on the island at this time of the year. We are 4 adults travelling from Australia (in our 40's). No one else is an Anne fan except me and I'm a little worried that everyone else will not have a good time.

Are you spending your entire time on PEI? Early May is unpredictable. Could be very pleasant weather or rainy. The beaches are awesome, however, not much will be open in regards to tourist attractions until the long weekend in May which is near the end of the month. PEI has great golf courses if you are so inclined.

Hi, Sandra! Early May is not the optimum time to visit PEI or anywhere in Atlantic Canada for that matter. It cld. be very cold with risk of frost. Let's put it this way: Flowers are not planted until mid to late June in Atlantic Canada whereas in Ontario, for instance, planting is done around mid May. Is there some compelling reason why you & your friends have to travel in early May? If not, you may want to consider re-scheduling to July or August or even early Sept wld. be preferable

Sandra,

Although May will be a little cool and unpredicatable, the offset (not a lot of other tourists) may make it worthwhile anyway. Please keep in mind that PEI is a little small and you can see most of it in a week. If you are going for the beaches you will need to wait until late June or early July.

Enjoy your trip to Canada.
