Hi,
I'm 24 yo fm and I am thinking of traveling by myself in late August for about 4-5 days.
I would like to go to a place where I can appreciate good natures with some interesting activities plus not-to-boring nights.
I'm thinking of Canada, not too far from NY, and i only got Montreal on my list.
any of you have a better idea?
Also, I've been looking through all those package offers from airline websites,
are they any good? or would it be better if i booked air and hotel/hostel separately?
thanks!! =D
traveling by myself.

Can't really offer you any advice, but just to say have a great time! Travelling on your own really does make you interact more with the people around you. Montreal has Mont Royal, but I'm not sure that's quite what you're after. I'm sure others on the site will be able to help.
Add some details about your interests and budget, which may make it a little easier to give you a helpful response. The packages on airlines are sometimes a good deal, but if you are traveling alone my guess is you will do better to book directly.
Given your criteria I can't really think of a better place than Montreal. Although Quebec City can be interesting too, Montreal has much more to offer to first-time (???) visitors.
It isn't difficult to navigate around Montreal even for those who don't speak french, where Quebec City is much more french, and you'd have to use any means of communication you can.
