TORONTO Island Airport - CAR RENTAL HELP!

We're flying into Toronto Island Airport in a few weeks on Porter Air. We have rented a car with Hertz and they are off-site via shuttle @ Union Station. The problem is, the shuttle stops running at 4:30pm on Sundays and we won't be leaving until around 7pm (AFTER a hockey game).

Hertz is the only car rental agency coming up on travel sites @ Toronto Island Airport. Is this true? Does anyone have any information about other rental options @ this airport?

We wanted to try Porter Air, and thought this airport would be convenient -- now I'm not so sure...?

Hertz told me they do have an 'after hours key drop' for the car, but would a TAXI back to the AIRPORT be the best option?

I would love to find a way to rent a car on site if possible, or find a company that has shuttles running when we'll be traveling.

Thanks for any suggestions!

No private cars or taxis are allowed on the island, so that's why you won't find any at the terminal. BTW, the airport is now officially Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

Here's a map which might help put things in perspective

Porter airlines provides a shuttle which crosses the ferry and picks up and drops passengers at the Royal York Hotel, across the street from Union Station (65 Front) where there are several car rental offices.

I would simply drop the car before the game and after walk from the ACC to the Royal York to catch the Porter shuttle.

This is so helpful! Thank you!

Our game is at Canlan Ice Sports (Etobicoke) Arena so we'll still have to drop the car after the game, but from what you are saying, we can drop the car @ the Union Station rental place, walk basically across the street to the Royal York Hotel, then ferry/shuttle to the airport, right?

Doesn't sound too bad! Would be easier without hockey gear but we can do it!

Thanks again so very much!

Exactly. Just cross Front Street to the Royal York from Union Station.
