Top Of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant
Have settled on Top of Vancouver for dinner one night after kicking around Cloud 9 and Vistas. I know it won't be the best of food but looking forward to the experience and views.
In mid September what time would be a good time for a reservation so we could go up in the daylight, and spend 2 hours seeing the sunset and nightime views?
Also settled on the Hyatt Regency on Burrard Street. Any opinions welcomed.
Looking for a reasonably priced ($20/25 per person) restaurant for a quick lunch, within a block or two of the hotel.
Thanks.

If it's a nice day, the rooftop garden at Joe Fortes might be quite nice. On Monday-Friday 11a-4p, they have a $9.95 "blue plate special" and prix fixe menu 2 course 14.95 or 3 course 17.95.
It was a Hyatt Regency concierge who first sent us to Joe Fortes, and it was not far from the hotel. Here's a link to the lunch menu: http://www.joefortes.ca/menus/menus.php?pageID=7

Hi Frank-
We had a fabulous meal at the Space Needle in Seattle, so we decided to dine at the Top of Vancouver. I have to say it was one of the worst meals we've ever had. It was definitely the worst meal of our trip. If you are set on going there, just get an appetizer and some cocktails; unless you enjoy dropping a couple hundred dollars for lousy food.

We had a great meal at the Space Needle also a few years ago, was hoping for something similar at TOV. I think if we order carfully, we can probably get away for $75 per person, looking at the Space Needle menu it's probably 20% more expensive.
How was the ride up in the glass elevator and how was the view of the city from the top?

Honestly Frank, I barely remember the view or the ride up and it hasn't even been a year. I am sure it was nice since Vancouver is. The meal just really left a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully, it has improved. Just don't go in with the expectation that it will be like the Space Needle. Far from it. Funny though, I vividly remember the Space Needle.

are you renting a car at all Frank? This may be out of the way, but the views are spectacular and I remember the food being exellent, although it was years ago. Grouse mountain is in North Vancouver , you take a gondola up.

live42day: No will not be renting a car, and TOV is within walking distance of the Hyatt, which is part of the attraction. Sunset is around 7:20PM in mid-September so I think a 6:30PM res. should work out.
Socaloc: You're making it sound pretty awful. If the weather doesn't co-operative, i.e. a beautifully clear day, we'll have a backup restaurant ready somewhere in walking distance of the hotel.
suldick: Thanks for the Joe Fortes recommendation. I checked the website and it looks like a strong possibility for the 3 course lunch.
