Storm Mountain Lodge or Cathedral Mtn. Lodge?

Anyone have experience w/these?

Only found reviews for Storm Mtn on TripAdvisor. Curious if anyone could compare these lodges & their settings?
Thanks so much.

I have stayed at Storm Mountain, not Cathedral. The food was very good. Accomodations were cabins which were comfortable. Although it is right on the highway we were not disturbed by traffic noise. I would go back.

Cathedral mountain Lodge is under construction until end of Aug.

They are rebuilding the main lodge, erstaurant is closed, but the cabins are open.

Special rates apply during this period.

During Lodge construction, the Restaurant will be temporarily closed for lunch and dinner. A complimentary Continental Breakfast, featuring fresh fruit, yogurts, cold cereals, pastries, bagels, muffins and breads as well as tea, coffee and juices, is offered to all lodge guests throughout this construction period.

Thanks for the info
for the review, cmcfong.

Did you find the cabins esp. nice, compared to other spots you may have stayed in the Rockies? (if you've stayed at other cabin locales, like Paradise...Becker's, Alpine Village or Baker Creek?

We'll be staying at Alpine Village, I think while in Jasper...and possibly Paradise, but it's not available all the dates we were thinking. That's why I was also considering Storm Mtn or Cathedral. Wasn't sure if one was a bit more 'distinct' or not...
or, how these might compare to the *others*.

Perhaps I'd be better off not doing so many cabins & mixing in Deer Lodge, or similar, for variety. Not sure.

The cabins were not as upscale as Lake O'Hara or Maligne Lake, but they were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. We built a fire, had a couple of beers in our rockers and thought we were royalty! It is basic, nothing glam but comfortable. I like the privacy and sense of the outdoors. Deer Lodge was very ordinary, just a short walk to one of the most spectacular sights in the world, though and that counts for something. There is really no place much to walk at Storm Mountain. We always like to stroll after dinner if it is still light.

Thanks for the further review.
Sounds quite comfortable.

You mentioned some cabins at Maligne Lake? At first, I was thinking perhaps you meant Moraine Lake, but there are only a few actual 'cabins' there, so maybe there's something at Maligne Lake, that I'm unaware of...?

Anyway, appreciate all the help!

WanderingRose, you are right, this was an ooops for me. Maligne Lake is near Jasper and I don't remember any cabins there. Moraine Lake is what I meant. Apologies, chalk it up to addled brain......
