Small hotel in Vancouver?

We're planning a July visit to Vancouver and need recommendations for a small hotel or B&B. Prefer a convenient location and must have wifi. One suggestion we've received is the English Bay Inn, but we'd appreciate comments and ideas.

Very common for homes in these popular areas to have "garden Suites" - self contained suites with frigs, mw etc. Good close connections to downtown.

I recommend Times Square Suites at the corner of Robson and Denham. Near Stanly Park, English Bay, lots of restaurants nearby. Hven't been for a few years so not sure about wiFi.

for the budget conscious there is also Buchanan in the same neighbourhood on a quiet residential street.

For a cheap stay there are 3 HI Hostels available. I think Downtown is the best. http://www.hihostels.ca/westerncanad...-/index.hostel
My wife and I had a private room with a television. Bath/shower rooms are down the hall.

Budget's not an issue. We just want a smaller place that's less focused on conferences, meetings, and the like. We've also heard about the Loden Hotel, which seems close to what we prefer. Anyone familiar with that hotel?

I am not familiar with the Loden Hotel but the last time I was in Vancouver I stayed at the Wedgewood Hotel. It is a small hotel well located. You might want to check it as well.

The Loden is excellent. The Opus Hotel may be another option to consider - that's in Yaletown. The Rosewood Hotel Georgia, though not a small hotel, is not conference/meeting focused and is considered one of the best.

Another vote for the Rosewood, similar size to the Loden but I feel like it provides better service and location. Opus (yaletown--lots of restaurants), Wedgewood (just off robson--lots of shopping) and The Sylvia (english bay--scenic, quieter location) would be my other recommendations.

We stayed at the Blue Horizon Hotel on Robson Street. Comfortable bed, good room size, and two sets of windows looking to different views of Vancouver. It was very handy to shopping, and the Hop On Hop Off bus stopped right outside.

I have also stayed at the Blue Horizon. Although it is very convenient, it used to be a condo, hence, the large rooms. The Wedgewood has more character, elegance and great service. It is a 4.5 star hotel where the Blue Horizon is categorized as a 3 star.

Loden hotel:
Location, service, great rooms, gym…. everything was great! BEST CHOICE, definitely met my expectations… do not forget to take the bikes around town and enjoy a great day in Vancouver. The restaurant is also very good!
