Running in Jasper in late summer

Jump to last reply

I'll be spending a few days in Jasper and need to do some marathon training, so am looking for a 10-15 km route. I have been to Jasper before and am very aware of the risk of bear encounters. I've seen them myself. To complicate things, I enjoy running with my dogs who will be with me.
Question: is it safe to run on 93A, or is it a better bet to go to town and use the trail system? I remember seeing a path than ran alongside the highway but cannot remember where it started/stopped.
If too risky, I will leave my dogs and run along (with bear spray) but would love to hear from people who frequent the park.
Thanks!
