We would like an alternate route to the first part of the Alaska Highway. Route 37 looks nice but we are worried about gas. Has anyone traveled that route? Are there gas stations along? Our Subaru has a range of about 300 miles.

Thanks Ron, 37 is so much more interesting than the first few hundred miles of Alcan.
The first six hundred miles of Alcan were plenty interesting when starting out from a very snowy Dawson Creek after spending the evening before reading about terrible weather conditions "all across Canada" during the first week of April.
I hope #37 suits you fine.
