Rockies Driving Tour

Jump to last reply

My husband and I want to do the Rockies by car and I have been taking note of the advice on this site from kgsneds and dulciusexasperis but my head is mashed trying to interpret the information to fit my needs!

I have always wanted to take a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer so have decided on the route from Vancouver which goes through Kamloops and on to Banff. This means that we will be taking a hire car from Banff rather than Vancouver which is where we need to finish for our Alaskan Cruise - yes I know it is more costly as a one way! We have allowed nearly 3 weeks for the trip and don't mind backtracking over the train route as we will obviously see different views and also be able to stop to view wildlife etc.

Any advice would be very welcome.
