restaurant suggestions for Ottawa, Montreal, and/or Quebec City

Two friends and I are going to Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City in June, and we'd love suggestions for some moderately-priced (say $30-$60 per person including a glass of wine) fun or authentic or unique or typical restaurants in these cities.

Montreal is one of the best cities this side of the Atlantic for restaurants, so the choices are mind boggling. Here are a few low-mid priced suggestions off the top of my head:
-L'express on St. Denis - French bistro
-Cafe Cherrier -on Cherrier - French bistro
-Nil Bleu on St. Denis - Ethiopian
-The area around Duluth and St. Denis are lined with interesting, eclectic, byob restaurants of every kind. Le Jardan de Panos is perhaps the best known.

Café du Clocher Pencher in Quebec City. Took Mrs. K there during her 50th birthday trip. Would have no problem recommending it.

In Ottawa 2 unique restaurants I have enjoyed:

Sweetgrass Aboriginal Bistro in the Byward Market area: http://www.sweetgrassbistro.ca/ . Nice atmosphere, "relaxed" casual-fine with interesting art, a little taste of culture without really being very "far out" (sort of Canadian-fusion and the "game" dishes are mostly farm-raised animals).

Savana Cafe: http://www.savanacafe.com/ . Casual, fun and funky atmosphere, tasty Caribbean/Asian/Canadian "fusion" cuisine.

The Byward Market area is chock full of restaurants and cafes with a lot of variety - you might want to just wander the streets of this district one evening and take your pick (in fact, I highly recommend wandering this district as part of your Ottawa experience).

Thanks so much for these suggestions. I've made a note of them, but would love to hear from others out there if they have any favorites to recommend.

If you want to splurge just a bit, or just taste their incredible "pain perdu" (bread and butter pudding), fantastic, young staff and inventive chef, relaxed atmosphere, a modern twist on traditionnal Québécois food, La Fabrique on St-Denis : http://www.montreal.tv/portail/view_...4b472968cb70f0

Which neighborhood will you be staying in?

Jojonana, in Qubect City, we're staying at Chateau de Pierre
17 Avenue Sainte Geneviève, and at the Westin Ottawa, and the Le Meredien Versailles in Montreal. Thanks for the suggestion.
