Please share your favorite spot in British Columbia for beautiful scenery, R&R, and swimming/kayaking.

We had a fabulous trip to Canada a few years ago with our kids (now aged 13 and 16). We would love to plan another trip to this gorgeous country, but all my travel books are in storage (we're in between moves) and I don't know where to begin. I remember when I was planning the last trip there was so much we skipped and missed.

We are mainly interested in beautiful scenery, R&R, some kayaking, swimming, and maybe golf.

We've already done Vancouver, Whistler, and Emerald Lake (Yoho) and Lake Louise area.

I would appreciate any ideas!
Thank you!
Dina

Thanks for your response, Itt, but I'm a little confused.
Are those all cities? (Fairmont not being a hotel?)
Please clarify if you can.
I am sorry but I am not familiar with these areas.
Thanks again!

Long Beach/Tofino/Ucluelet on westside of Vancouver Island is a good ploace for hiking, walking the beach, and scenery. Be sure to take the water taxi to Hotsprings Cove from Tofino in order to reach natural hotsprings on a remote island - bliss.

Another option: roadtrip from Vancouver to Nelson, then up to Ainsworth Hotsprings. Scenery, lakes, and again a great hotsprings.

If you haven't spent time on Vancouver Island, I think it could be your destination this time. We moved out here last September and have barely begun to explore everything. The Hot Springs Cove suggestion is an excellent one. Perhaps you could rent a car in Victoria and just drive up the island, stopping at Long Beach, Tofino/Ucluelet, and various places further north. There are a number of websites that will give you more information. Last night we saw a brief spot on the local news channel about Cape Scott, which is quite far north on the Island - it looks absolutely beautiful. It's wilderness, no upscale facilities, but gorgeous.

Also on Vancouver Island:
Botanical Beach, 2 hours west of Victoria:

a walk down through the forest to a sandstone shelf exposed at low tides pocked with pot hole tide pools
and orcas off shore

Wow. Thanks for all the great recommendations. I am having fun looking them up. I will be back with more questions, I'm sure.

I'm not sure why my post didn't go.

Favourite - Clearwater Wells Grey Park.
