Paradise Lodge/Baker Creek/Castle Mountain Chalets?

Looking for cozy, quiet log cabin with kitchen for September trip. Possibility also with Baker Creek (deluxe loft suite only available)

Anyone with insight on these 3 properties?

Tx

We just returned last night from a week at Baker Creek Chalets. We stayed there 14 years ago also, and loved it so much then that we knew we wanted to stay there on this trip. Part of why we enjoy it so much is that it is right on the creek. Baker Creek Chalets do not have televisions or telephones, so it is a very restfull place. Oh...and they have a wonderful bisto!

We drove past the Castle Mountain Chalets many times. I believe those have tv's, FYI. These chalets are on a corner and not very private at all. There is a little grocery store there though. Castle Mountain Chalets are only about 5 miles from Baker Creek.

Hope some of this helps you decide.

Thanks for the info MMS. I booked Paradise Lodge and I`m on the waiting list for Baker Creek. Any concerns with the train going by?

The train goes past both Baker Creek and Castle Mountain. At BC you do hear it a lot, but its not annoying or anything...I guess its drowned out by the creek. At CM there is no creek to quiet the sound.

Where is Paradise Lodge? I know I recognize the name...must have seen it, but can't place it off the top of my head.

Ok, now I remember, LOL! Paradise looked nice. It is on the main road up to Lake Louise so in a pretty busy area. I would say that BC would be much quieter, but Paradise would be walkable to things. So it sort of depends on what you are looking for.

Hum...I was looking to be more "in the woods", now you`re scaring me a bit! A couple of people at Banff/LL Tourism recommended Paradise Lodge first over CM if I couldn`t get Baker Creek. However, I`ll have to keep in mind that I won`t spend my days there. And who knows, I may be lucky and get BC at the last minute!

If you are wanting to be in the woods then I would definitely go with Baker Creek as my first choice. I would agree that Paradise would win out over Castle Mountain, but thats just my opinion When we were at BC 14 years ago it was mid September and absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks for your reassurance! I`ve been to this area 7 times, but never stayed or seen these properties. Pictures are sometimes deceiving. I`m taking my dad, who has never seen the mountains, on a special trip and want to make sure it`s memorable. He doesn`t care for big hotels so this should be nice. Thanks again!
