Paradise Lodge: How are the lodge suites?
I've seen really positive things on this board about the cabins, but unfortunately, the only availability for our stay is in the Paradise lodge suites. Are they as nice as the cabins? Are the walls quite thin? And by the way, does this place have a hot tub onsite? Thanks!

Hi again.
We stayed in the cabins and they were really nice. It doesn't have a hot tub or restaurant, but does have laundry facilities (self laundry) which I liked.
I don't know if you saw this under another thread which started to be about the Post Hotel.

Message: Deborahk - sorry for the late response (quite sick last week). Anyway - our lodge room (at Paradise) was really wonderful. 2 large rooms, with a bathroom and kitchenette. Also a very nice balcony. A really beautiful room.

Thanks, Maj - I actually hadn't seen that post. I mentioned this on my reply to your post about the Fairmont, I e-mailed Paradise to confirm their cabin availability, and they do have 1 cooper & 1 other cabin available for our dates after all...though they said the only cooper is close to a road so it may get traffic noise during the day. Perhaps you are familiar with the locations of the cabins, and could advise how much traffic the cabins which are closer to the road get?

Type Paradise Cabins and Lodge in the search engine--there are some replies on there under Paradise Lodge/Lake Louise that may help you out. I remember reading that before we went.
We stayed in a standard cabin away from the road. The property does begin close to the road from Lake Louise Village to Lake Louise itself so is pretty well travelled. I'm not familiar with the different cabins, but I can tell you that we never heard anything from the outside while we were there--even from our neighbors who were close. In fact there were a group of people in the courtyard-like place in the evening and we didn't hear them either. I didn't think about the sound level before--it must be pretty good (of course we weren't really near the road).
If you don't get any more messages--top this thread in a couple of days--seems like some people just answer during the work week.

I`ve stayed at Paradise Lodge twice now (Cooper cabins) and never had a problems with traffic noise. You`d be out and about during the day when most of the traffic occurs anyway and no noise at night, very quiet. Enjoy the place; I truly love it there!

We stayed in a room that faced the highway and never had a problem - sat out on the balcony facing the road to eat dinner and that was in the middle of July - peak tourist season. Beautiful grounds at Paradise Lodge.
Also - if you heading to Jasper, please consider staying at Bear Hill lodge. We did and feel it was one of the best places we stayed the entire trip. Truly nice rooms, really great grounds, hot tub, BBQ rental, kitchen in the cabins, good prices - so really wonderful.
