Trip Report Our stops in Hope - wow, what a setting!!

Jump to last reply

During our last two mini-trips to Manning Provincial Park (July, this year and last), we made stops into Hope - on the way, to catch breakfast, and on the return, to do a little browsing/shopping. For us, it is always such a "visual" pleasure to stop into Hope - to get a chance to walk around and absorb as much as we can of it's wonderful natural setting, and to visit the Hope Arts Guild's 'Arts Gallery'.

Hope has such a beautiful and 'majestic' setting, and with the clear sky and sunshine on each of these stops, it was quite breath-taking!! The clear and great depth of field created by the lovely weather conditions, made the mountains and their trees look as if you could just reach out and touch them!!

We are always in Hope too early to stop in to the 'Arts Gallery' on our ways to Manning Park, so have always planned to do so our on returns. We enjoy browsing the several small rooms and their lovely displays of arts & crafts created by local artists -- from oil and watercolour paintings, framed and unframed, limited edition prints, photography, raku pottery, pineneedle baskets, jewelry, to cards, and other odds & ends. I found three pieces of raku pottery with my name on each last year!! No purchases made this time, but ideas for the future.

Before and after short, but fantastic times in Manning Park, we got to see and experience a little of beautiful Hope, and we're always so glad we did!!

Happy travels in beautiful British Columbia!!
Cheers, John
