I'm traveling on business this week and will spend a night in Thunder Bay. I've never been there before. Anyone have recommendations on restaurants? Also, I'd like some suggestions on how to occupy my time? I enjoy music and sports if that helps. I'm not opposed to outdoors activities, but I don't know if I'll have time for much of that.
One night in Thunder Bay

Bistro One is very good. For a real Thunder Bay experience, have breakfast at the Hoito, with super Finnish pancakes. For lunch, try the Good News Café, if you're in that part of town (Fort William).
(yes, I know this thread is ancient)
But I couldn't help laughing upon reading the suggesting for the "Hoito" restaurant in Thunder Bay.
I've been there and it is, yeah, a real Thunder Bay experience.
In summary:
Expect to enter what closely approximates a high school cafeteria/lunchroom in terms of decor.
THEN expect to be approached by often-stunning, sun-streaked blond waitresses whose Finnish heritage makes you wish you were Finnish.
When those two realities converge then you'll soon forget whatever it was that you ordered and ate. That place remains my clearest memory of Thunder Bay.
