NS or PEI or both with a child??

Jump to last reply

Flying to Halifax, NS in August with my husband and 2 year old. This is our first time in the area. We will have 7 days/8 nights to spend. Trying to decide whether to just stay in NS or also visit PEI. We like good food and scenery (for photography). We have a well-traveled toddler, but any kid-friendly activities always help. Thinking about limiting most of our time in NS to Cape Breton (maybe 4 nights) and then to PEI for 2 additional nights, with 2 nights in Halifax (when we first arrive and prior to our return home). Is this too rushed?

Is the wait for the ferry from NS to PEI going to be too long or crazy near the end of August? It certainly does not seem feasible for us to drive from the Cape Breton area across the bridge to PEI in one day with a small child in the car.

Is there anything at all for a 2 year old to do in the Cape Breton area? Would a child that age be able to visit Fort Louisberg?

Any advice you can give will surely help! Thanks!
