Nova Scotia
My husband and I are planning a trip to Nova Scotia and would like to know how the weather is in April and May. Also, other than winter, when is the best time to go in order to avoid the mosquitos?
Thanks

April in NS is not pretty: Cold, grey, rainy & sometimes snow! It's starting to warm up in May but can still be very chilly. To give you an idea: The leaves do not "come out" on the trees in Cape Breton until past mid-May! People do not plant their summer flowers until the end of June! If, at all possible, try to visit NS in the summer or very early Fall.

If you want to just spend some time in Halifax, anytime is good. But to view the absolute splendor of this province, visit in the summer or early fall months. April can be snowy - flip a coin here. May is nicer weather depends on what you like to do? Mosquitos - not evident in all spots. Blackflies are worst in May - mosquitos in June/July. Again, depends on where you are and what type of weather we are having.
