NOTL weather in Sept

I'm thinking of planning a trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake in September. Although I'd like to go early in the month, due to schedules it looks like mid- to late-September is the earliest my husband and I could go. It would be nice to ride bikes or stroll along some paths, or do something outdoors, but I'm wondering what the weather is typically like around that time of year?

According to the weather sites I've researched, the daytime highs seems to be in the 18-20 degree Celsius range on average in mid-September, and cooling down even more as the end of the month approaches. Does this sound accurate? Does it typically rain a lot then?

Is there going to be much of a difference in weather between the middle of the month vs. the end of the month?
