NL Dec. weather, or Why It's Never Dull Here

Jump to last reply

We've been having strange weather all fall: hurricane in Sept., record high temps & high rainfall amounts, and so far in December, no snow at all in central NL, which normally is completely covered.
Well this week's high winds (>90kmh around here--higher some areas) and steady rain have produced storm surges, with damage to property and disruptions that aren't particularly "seasonal", but this amateur video certainly shows the remarkable effects that unpredictable weather can have on ocean life.
Triton is a tiny fishing community on the NE coast of the island of NL. The scene is in front of a small fish processing plant, and no, you can't expect to see cod washed up on the wharf on an ordinary winter day here!
Here's the video:
Oh--I almost forgot--Happy Christmas from NL!
