Niagara Falls NY to Toronto Airport (YYZ)

Have an 8:45 PM flight out of Toronto Pearson on Friday 6/20. Assuming I check and take border crossing time into account how long does it take to drive from bridge crossing, park long term, then get to terminal on a Friday Evening? Would come over the Lewiston/Queenston or Rainbow depending on bridge wait times.

If you leave between noon and 2pm you should have a clear sail across the border and into the airport in less than 3 hours... that puts you into the airport before the triple whammy of Friday Traffic/Rush Hour/and Border Delays...

the later you leave after 2pm increases ALL 3 delays...

Friday Afternoon Border delays increase dramatically after 3pm at all three crossings...

Friday Rush hour can also be accident delayed, especially between Burlington Exit 99 and Toronto... expect heavier traffic the longer you wait...

I would hit the road early to play it safe and then grab dinner or a drink at the airport... better than missing a flight... have fun

Thanks Gary, though you’ve confirmed my fears. While I know the border crossing well was hoping travel towards Toronto would be against rush hour and not too bad. I’ve experienced horrible morning delays through Hamilton previous, but traffic seems to move(albeit slowly) the opposite direction.

Once you get past the Niagara Region cars are buzzing in all directions... and heaven help us if there's an accident on the QEW... good luck and leave early...

Your experience around Hamilton can be repeated on Toronto's west side any time of the day, and the connection from the Queen Elizabeth Way to the airport is part of the commuter escape route. Allow lots of time, just to be safe.
