Are the mosquitos a problem while hiking in Gros Morne National Park? Would late June or mid July be the best time to go?

Late June and July is a great time to go. Mosquitos are not a big problem because there is lots of wind. Gros Morne is incredible you should also go to the L'anse aux Meadows area. There are lots of hiking trails all over the place and great views of icebergs and whales. If you are looking for good, healthy food on your vacation you should try Java jack's in Rocky Harbour and The Norseman Restaurant in L'Anse aux Meadows.
When we were there in July of 2000, I remember black flies being a problem especially up by the L'anse aux Meadows area. I don't know if our experience was typical for that time of year....
If there is no wind... you'll see mosquitoes and little black flies (the most annoying thing ever!!)
)

This summer I wanted to go hike around in my area but it was almost always impossible...(I live not too far from L'Anse Aux Meadows, but then accross the strait near Labrador
If there are flies/mosquitoes it is handy to wear light colored clothing, a sweater with a hood and elastics at the wrists and pants tucked in!!
Put some insect repellent on your wrists and should be fine!
