I highly recommend Northland Discovery Tours out of St. Anthony for iceburg/whale watching. They literally "went the extra mile" for our group, staying out much longer than promised and journeying further, in order to locate an iceburg. They were very informative and entertaining. We were also lucky enough to see lots of whales. Of course, visiting so early in the season, you may have several options for viewing iceburgs; I think that Twillingate has tours as well.
Do take a boat tour to see iceburgs up close from somewhere in any case; we saw a couple from shore, but it wasn't nearly the same experience.
Thats pretty ambitious....but its good coverage of the island.
It will also involve a lot of driving. Enjoy your time here!
Thank you for the input. We know there is a fair bit of driving but it can't be helped if we want to do east and west coasts as well as Northen Peninsula. Do want to balance too much driving and sites. Also, our experience is to try to stay settle into a "homebase" for 2-4 nights at a time - otherwise too much packin/unpacking etc. JonasNF - any suggestions on how to be less ambitious with our plan - should we forget Labrador and/or Twillingate given our other plans? Thank you in advannce.
