New Brunswick, NS,PEI - which is more senic?

My family and I are planning a trip to this area in late June/July. I have been doing some reading hoping to narrow our destination site, but, it all sounds so good! It will be My husband and I and our three kids(1 baby). We love to hike, bike, fish, explore. Can you help me with any suggestions? Thank you!

Well, all three provinces would fit your bill for hiking, biking, fishing and exploring. With small children, PEI might be a good destination. There are several theme parks, great beaches with all the amenities (esp. with small children), wonderful biking trails that run from one end of the province to the other. You will want to make reservations early for July though.

I agree with Tanya. I'm from NB, and I would recomment it to anyone, but PEI is more "child-friendly" - it is geared toward family vacations. You will not have any shortage of things to do.

And DO make reservations - July is a very busy time of year!

Enjoy,
Tim

Thank you so much for the feed back. I happened on this site when I was searching for information about the areas. I was so pleased to see people willing to help others out, just to be nice. Thank you for your time!!

I spent my summer vacation in all 3 provinces. My opinions are only good if you plan on driving a lot(since that's what we did). If you plan to stay in one place, the exact opposite is likely the case.

"which is more senic?"
Definately Nova Scotia (Cabot trail), hands down, followed by New Brunswick.

PEI is great to see, but the scenery is all the same. Personally, after a couple days I started getting bored and was ready to move on to NS.

Donna, my opinion echos Rockfan's. Nova Scotia, most especially the Cabot Trail, is the most scenic IMO. I too grew bored with PEI fairly quickly. Still, it's very pretty in a quiet sort of way - rolling hills, farms, red cliffs. And probably the best destination for a family with children, for the reasons Tanya and Tim stated.
Tough choices!

Just to add to the mix, I am from Nova Scotia and if PEI is not to your liking, Halifax may be a good destination. I am sure the kids wouldn't enjoy the Cabot Trail that much unless they do like to drive. Halifax would be a good destination with lots of activities for the kids. There is the Discovery Centre, Maritime Museum, Museum of Natural History, the Halifax Waterfront with a ship playground, Point Pleasant Park, Peggy's Cove (great for rock jumping), ferry ride across to Dartmouth (with a playground on the other side as well), Dingle Park, can rent bikes near the ferry terminal at the Waterfront, Public Gardens (lots of flowers and ducks)etc. Lots of kid friendly restaurants/pubs as well.

In Dartmouth (just across the Harbour) there is Shubie Park (you can usually rent canoes) and some great hiking trails (not too long though) and ducks to feed. Lawrencetown Beach, Rainbow Haven beach(very kid friendly).

Just outside Halifax (about 40 minutes) is the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park (always a good spot to take kids for a couple of hours) and a great picnic spot with a huge playground.

Towards Digby you will find Upper Clements Park that is a good destination for the family. Closeby you can do some whale watching as well.

The Cabot Trail is absolutely breathtaking and I highly recommend anyone to see it. Lots of hiking trails but probably not great for kids.

Whatever province you decide, you won't be disappointed!
