National Park Strike

I have just heard that employees of Canada's National Parks have voted in favor of strike action. Does anyone have information as to how soon they would be walking out if it isn't resolved. I would never cross a picket line.

Wow - I wasn't aware of this! Thanks, Marilyn, for calling it to our {or at least, my} attention. Anyone have any information?

Where did you hear this? What's the source? Which National Park - all of them? I haven't heard anything of the sort either, even after searching. Not that I don't believe you... but that's news to me.

Do not know any details, but yes it was on the radio a couple of days ago. Voted for action, but no dates were given.

The union is the Public Service Alliance. You can find out what they want here: www.psac.com/ . But it is all National Parks, essentially all employees. They still have to go through a conciliation process before they can strike. My guess, based on the issues and 30 years working in the Canadian public service, is that there will not be a strike.
