I know that Montreal is known for it's French food, but my husband and I try to find some Morocan cuisine when we are in larger cities.
Any recommendations?

We have been to Coucous Royal on Duluth St. It is a casual, byob place that offers outdoor dining. Duluth St. is lined with byob restaurants of every description. Montreal is a very international city, so I'm sure there are many other Morocan places.
I've been to two that are a little pricier with belly-dancing entertainment: Le Sabayon on the corner of Sherbrooke & University (Metro: McGill) and Le Soleil de Marrakech on Queen Mary & Decarie (Metro: Snowdon). The belly-dancer was really fantastic, as was the tadjin and tea at these. Expect to spend several hours at both of these, with often dancing afterward at le Sabayon. La Couscoussiere on Amherst above Ste. Catherine also has belly-dancing in a gold-plaster ambience (Metro: Berri-UQAM).
I'm hesitant to give this one away but Couscous Kamela is a cozy place with some excellent couscous dishes at pretty reasonable prices; in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal district, corner Brebeuf and Marie Anne (Metro: Mont-Royal).
Enjoy! DAN
Price isn't the biggest concern--basically my husband and I both love Moroccan cuisine--our favorite is Chicken Bastila--Which is chicken in pastry with powdered sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top!
Do you know if Coucous Royal or Couscous Kamela offer it? I would assume the belly dancing place does.
thanks so much!
