What are your interests? If big City attractions e.g. museums, galleries, shopping, restaurants, theatre, bars etc. then Toronto. If outdoor adventure/nature perhaps Algonquin Park although April is off-season there, trees won't be leafed out and it could be damp and chilly. Depending on how far you want to drive, maybe Niagara - both the Falls and nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake - cute town surrounded by wineries.
