Mont Tremblant Ironman

I am competing in Ironman Mt. Tremblant 2013 on August 19th. We are looking to incorporate it into a family vacation. Ideally, would like a place in or within walking distance to the villiage so my family can come and go on race day - so realistically looking for 2-3 nights in mid August. We would then like to move off the mountain to a quieter cottage in the area. I've searched through VRBO and the Tremblant site without much luck in terms of price and availability. Does anyone have any suggestions re: places to stay that are recommended but not luxurious? Any ideas for re-working vacation to accomodate the event? What areas should I be looking in outside of the villiage for a quieter week either before or after the race thats close to water/hiking etc?
